Barrier Coverage with Wireless Sensors:
A Case Study on How We Might Ask a More Useful/Beautiful Question

摘要

Abstract:  Einstein is reported to have said that if he had an hour to solve a problem and his life depended on it, he would spend the first fifty-five minutes making sure he was asking the right question and only five minutes finding an answer.  Unfortunately, in our education systems, from kindergarten to college, we are taught how to answer questions (or solve problems), but almost never how to ask questions (or define problems).  In this talk, I will use barrier coverage, an interesting topic in sensor networks, as a case study to discuss how we might train ourselves to ask more beautiful questions.
